Welcome to the spring 2025 semester! I hope you are as excited as I am to begin our discussion about what your plans may be for life after high school.

 

Please be sure to log into your NYC Schools Gmail account and complete the HSEF College & Career Student Questionnaire as soon as you can.

 

It is important to keep in mind the information will help me, help you in finding colleges or career programs, scholarships, scholarships and opportunities.

 

Your responses are confidential, and I am not asking anything that isn't asked on a college/trade program or financial aid application (less in fact!), so, be honest! The more accurate and in depth your responses are the better advice I can provide. I am looking forward to meeting with you soon.

FREE FINANCIAL AID ASSISTANCE

New York State's Higher Education Service Corporation (HESC) offers a wide range of free virtual events that can connect students and families with the information, resources, and financial aid experts they need to help them navigate the college application and financial aid process.

 

Events are free and ongoing throughout the process, but space is limited so be sure to find an event and register today!

Your StudentAid.gov (FSA ID) account is the first step to getting access to federal student financial aid.

 

FAFSA/TAP Completion Events

Get one-on-one assistance from HESC and NYS college financial aid professionals who can help you complete your FAFSA and NYS application for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

 

Virtual Drop-In Lounge

Drop-in to connect with HESC financial aid experts to get answers to all of your financial aid questions during a session.

Designed to equip high school seniors with essential information and tools for a smooth transition to college.



NYS HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES & SUPPORT

New York State Higher Education Services (HESC) offers students and families a wide range of free services to assist with financial aid for college or career programs.

 

The 2025-26 FAFSA and NYS TAP applications are now available for students to apply. Students can access the NYS TAP application from the state aid link available at the end of the FAFSA submission process. Those who submitted a FAFSA and missed the TAP link can apply directly at www.tap.hesc.ny.gov/totw/hesc.ny.gov/NYSTAP

 

Undocumented or other students eligible through the NYS DREAM Act can submit their TAP application through their DREAM Act portal.

 

Students needing assistance completing their FAFSA and NYS TAP applications or making updates can join a HESC FAFSA/TAP Completion Event. These events provide support to students and families to help them navigate the financial aid process.
