SUMMER STOCK MARKET CHALLENGE AT BARUCH COLLEGE
We are happy to inform you about an exciting opportunity tailor-made for HSEF students! Teaming up with Undergraduate Admissions at Baruch College, the Subotnick Financial Services Center is launching its annual Stock Market Challenge for rising senior high school students this summer for FREE, running from June 30th to July 25th. All program sessions will take place at Baruch College in-person.
The program is offered at no cost with exciting prizes and awards up for grabs.

You will explore the complexities of the stock market, gain insight into the principles of saving and investing, all within an interactive classroom environment. You will then put your newfound knowledge to the test, as you compete against fellow high school students in an engaging four-week stock market challenge.
This engaging and informative program aims to replicate the thrill of a genuine trading environment, all the while imparting essential knowledge on investment strategies for wealth accumulation. Working in small teams, you will collaborate, leveraging your individual strengths and honing critical thinking abilities, as you analyze company and industry data, alongside pricing information, throughout the competition.
SALUTE TO YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
Since 1960, Salute to Youth has awarded over $900,000 in scholarship assistance supporting the next generation of leaders for young passionate students that are making a difference in their communities.
This year, they are offering two scholarships and you can apply to one or both:
1. Salute to Youth Merit Scholarship – Recognizing academic excellence and leadership ($1,000-$2,500).
2. Miller-Waters-Fenty Scholarship – Awarding students with talent in the Academics and Arts which includes Vocal, Instrumental, Dance, Visual Arts, Drama, or any artistic outlet ($2,500-$5,000).
Key Details:
• Application Deadline: April 11, 2025
• Award Distribution: June 2025
• Eligibility: NYC residents, Graduating HS Senior, submit an essay, transcript, two letters of recommendation, and (for talent applicants) a performance video or portfolio.

CLASS OF 2025 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - YANKEE-STONEWALL SCHOLARSHIP
NYC Public Schools in partnership with the Stonewall Inn and the New York Yankees are proud to announce the 7th Annual Yankee-Stonewall Scholarship Initiative. This one-time scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to one stand-out student from each borough (5 student winners total).
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
• A graduating senior in a NYC Public Schools (NYC DOE) high school
• Intending on attending a two-year or four-year college in Fall 2025.
• A member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ+) community or someone who has contributed significantly to the LGBTQ+ community.
• At least a 2.5 GPA (80 and above)
***United States citizenship status will not affect a student's ability to receive the scholarship.

CLASS OF 2026 - QUESTBRIDGE COLLEGE PREP SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Questbridge is seeking high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds to apply to the 2025 College Prep Scholars Program! College Prep Scholars can receive awards and opportunities that will give them a head start in applying to top colleges, including...A full scholarship to a college summer program at Emory, UChicago, Yale, and more. Valued at up to $20,000, the scholarship covers travel, tuition, housing, and food.
Quest for Excellence Awards, valued at $1,000, for a new laptop or other resources to help students enhance their college applications.An invitation to a QuestBridge National College Admissions Conference featuring a college fair so students can explore schools that may be a good fit for them.

CLASS OF 2025 - APPLY FOR NAF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
HSEF is one of the few schools at which ALL students are NAF- Academy of Finance students!
As such, ALL HSEF seniors are eligible to apply for the NAF Scholarship!
Every year, NAF gives out scholarships to assist high school seniors or graduates of NAF academies who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
Applicants to the NAF Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:
· Be high school seniors or graduates of one of the academies within the NAF Network
· Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year
· Plan to pursue a degree in one of the following fields: Business, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM*), Environmental Science, or Agriculture *Including medical-related fields
Up to 21 awards will be granted in amounts ranging from $1,500-$2,500.

NYS HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES & SUPPORT
New York State Higher Education Services (HESC) offers students and families a wide range of free services to assist with financial aid for college or career programs.
The 2025-26 FAFSA and NYS TAP applications are now available for students to apply. Students can access the NYS TAP application from the state aid link available at the end of the FAFSA submission process. Those who submitted a FAFSA and missed the TAP link can apply directly at www.tap.hesc.ny.gov/totw/hesc.ny.gov/NYSTAP
Undocumented or other students eligible through the NYS DREAM Act can submit their TAP application through their DREAM Act portal.
Students needing assistance completing their FAFSA and NYS TAP applications or making updates can join a HESC FAFSA/TAP Completion Event. These events provide support to students and families to help them navigate the financial aid process.
