Tips for Calling Colleges & Universities
Have your list of questions ready and with you before you call!

Questions to consider:
- Does my application require any additional materials that you have not received?
- How can I (if it is possible) schedule an interview with you (or the admission office)?
- Are any open houses coming up?
- Are there specific items that you look at on my (midyear or final) transcript?
- Do you sponsor visits to your campus?
- Are there any upcoming events in the near future?
- Remember, to be polite and cordial.
In your college application journal:
- record the name and title of the person you speak
- write down the date and time of the call
- also take note of the number you dialed (also, if you use a telephone tree like "Press 1 to speak to admissions..."
Don't forget to thank the person for taking their time to speak with you.
