Orientation for the Class of 2028

May 2024

Dear Students and Families,

Congratulations! You have been selected as a member of the High School of Economics & Finance Class of 2028.  We are all so excited to welcome you to your new school community, a home away from home, for so many of us, as I like to say.

To celebrate our new class, we will hold a SPECIAL ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR OUR INCOMING 9th GRADERS AND THEIR FAMILIES ON TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 2024, AT 5:00 P.M. in our auditorium. You and your parents/caregivers will meet some teachers and current students, tour our school building, and learn about all the incredible opportunities our school has been offering for over 30 years We are thrilled to announce our new program, Finance 2030’s with ESTEEM. With our state-of-the-art ESTEEM curriculum all students are immersed in rigorous study of Economics, Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Mathematics. Please RSVP for this event by visiting https://tinyurl.com/HSEFOrientation2028.

We are located at 100 Trinity Place, between Cedar and Thames Streets, just steps from Wall Street. We are accessible to all public transportation to downtown Manhattan. The closest subway stops are Wall Street (for #4 and #5 trains), and Cortlandt Street or Rector Street (for R and 1 trains).

We are also offering all in-coming 9th graders the HSEF ECO Summer Experience from
July 15th through August 1st, Mondays through Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. All incoming 9th graders are expected to attend this important program that serves as a stepping stone to high school life. Please see the flyer included. To confirm your registration in this program, please complete this form https://tinyurl.com/ECOSUMMER24.  If you have any questions or to register your child for this program, please contact Ms. Nora Garcia, Parent Coordinator at (212) 346-0708, extension 1913 or email her at [email protected].

Students who still need to satisfy middle school graduation requirements must attend regular summer school provided by their middle school. The HSEF ECO Summer Experience does not substitute for middle school graduation requirements.

Again, congratulations on your selection to the High School of Economics & Finance Class of 2028. Our faculty, staff, parents, corporate and community partners are delighted to welcome you as a member of our school community. Should you have any questions in advance of the orientation, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Garcia. I look forward to seeing you on June 11th at 5:00PM.

Sincerely,
Michael Stanzione
